A 91-day walk toward a new beginning.

In 91 Days to Weight Loss and Gaining Strength Through Praise, Kevin shares how he moved through depression and self-doubt by reading and understanding God’s Word, and by recognizing the importance of family and faith.

The “weight loss” in this book is not about losing pounds physically. Kevin describes laying down the mental weight of daily pressures—from social media and the news to outside influences and the feeling that we should always do better. His story is about finding light, strength, and a new place in God’s Kingdom.

Finding strength through faith.

My name is Kevin Haun. I’m a husband, father, and retired U.S. Navy Command Master Chief. I spent 31 years serving our country and caring for the Sailors beside me. After my Navy career, I continued working and serving others, but I also faced a deeply personal season of depression, self-doubt, health struggles, and feeling discouraged.

My life has included hard seasons, including a heart attack in 2013. In the middle of life’s pressures, I began turning more deliberately to God’s Word, prayer, and the encouragement of my family and Christian brothers. Step by step, I found hope and a renewed desire to praise God.

The “weight loss” in my book is not a promise about pounds on a scale. It describes laying down the mental and spiritual burdens that can weigh on us: fear, discouragement, outside pressures, and the feeling that we must carry everything alone. My 91-day journey grew from that personal experience and the strength I found through faith and praise.

I’m sharing my story in the hope that it encourages someone else who feels weighed down. You can take the next step with God, one day at a time.

31 years of Navy serviceChristian testimony

From the flight line to continued service.

My career has been shaped by service, learning, and the people I have had the privilege to work beside. Here are some milestones from the Navy years through the work I do today.

1976–1977

Starting in naval aviation

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July 1976 as an aircraft mechanic. My first years taught me the value of skilled work, discipline, and relying on the people beside me. This company photo is from March 1977.
